CardChase vs Churn Buster
Every tool in this category can retry a failed Stripe charge and send a dunning email. The question a subscription business should ask is narrower: who decides what goes out, and what happens to a card the network has already refused twice?
| WHAT ITS OWN PAGE PUBLISHES | CARDCHASE | CHURN BUSTER |
|---|---|---|
| The price on its own pricing page | $9/month flat. | $430/mo starting price, based on MRR. |

What Churn Buster is
Churn Buster is a retention platform covering both passive churn (failed payments) and active churn (cancellations), sold with a retention specialist attached. Its complete plan is the only tier on its pricing page carrying a number, and entry runs through a strategy call.
$430/mo for the Complete Retention Solution, based on MRR. Read from Churn Buster — Pricing on 2026-09-09.
What CardChase is
CardChase is the recovery loop on its own, running against your own Stripe Billing account. It retries a failed charge and writes the customer, both staged for your approval before anything reaches them.
- Nothing is retried and nothing is sent until you approve it, and every approval waits 30 seconds before it can be claimed.
- It stops at 4 retries per customer, well inside the 15-reattempt ceiling the card networks set, and the cap cannot be configured past it.
- It never retries a card the network has hard-declined: a branch with a test, not a default you can switch off.
- $9/month flat. Recovering more does not cost more.
Choose Churn Buster if
- You want cancel flows and win-back as well as dunning: active churn is a different problem and Churn Buster covers it.
- You want a named retention specialist reviewing your numbers with you.
- You are large enough that a percentage of your MRR is a rounding error.
Choose CardChase if
- You want the recovery loop and nothing else, at a price that does not move when your MRR does.
- You want to read every message before it goes to a customer, not configure a sequence and hope.
- You want the retry policy to be a gate you can read, not a setting you have to trust.
Moving off Churn Buster
Churn Buster is priced as a percentage of MRR rather than seats or contracts, so leaving is a pricing decision rather than a data migration: the loop stops sending on your Churn Buster account and CardChase's own ladder starts running its own retries and drafts instead. What does not come across is Churn Buster's retention specialist and its cancel-flow tooling, because CardChase has neither. Nothing about your Stripe subscriptions themselves moves, since both tools operate against the same Billing account rather than owning it.
Questions
Is CardChase cheaper than Churn Buster? Churn Buster's complete plan starts at $430/mo and is banded by MRR, so the price rises as you grow. CardChase is a flat $9/month, and recovering more does not cost more.
Does Churn Buster do cancel flows? Yes, and CardChase does not. Churn Buster covers active churn (someone clicking cancel) as well as passive churn (a card failing). CardChase is only the second one.
